Pills
I am seeing a different side to my favorite little 4 legged friend. He does not know how to swallow pills. I guess he is taking after me. I was in my teens when i finally was able to swallow a pill. At least I didn't foam at the mouth and try to bite my mom. I am not liking these new behaviors. Good thing I love the furry little guy. He's my life saver so I will have to get used to the new behaviors.

The magazine came today!
The Feb. issue of Cat Fancy came today. Cosmo is on pages 40 and 41. The article turned out great. I am sorry to say that they did not give credit to my wonderful photographer. But I know that Photos by ALF took great pics. I am a very proud human friend to a great CAT!

The gift of dental work
Today I found a new dental group. They are warm and caring for their patients. Today was very difficult to trust a dentist again but this group of people care. They donated their time today to help cancer survivors and current cancer patients. Today I had to face that I am going to be a cancer survivor, a title that no one wants. I spoke for the first time on camera about my struggle this year and how people put their lives into the hand of doctors everyday. I thought that I always asked questions about my health but the lesion was found in September of 2010 and I trusted what I was told. The fabulous people at Dr. Waite's office will teach me how to be trusting again but also how to ask questions and not let anything go on for so long. Cosmo has also been told that he may come with me at anytime.

How we met....
5 years ago I had a special long time companion that died. Fuzz was 22 years old and very special. That day was sad but the events of that day led me to Cosmo. He was being fostered with his siblings and mother by a wonderful family. Little did I know just how special he was going to be to me. From the beginning he acted as part dog. His best friend was a dog and enjoyed hanging out at the lake with Daisy. Cosmo was walking on leash as from the beginning. He was rather strange looking because his body was normal in size but his legs and tail started to grow. His tail became longer than his body and he started climbing and jumping everything. Looking back on his behavior he was very clingy. Cosmo was also very hyper active and drove his grandparents crazy that first summer. But he survived the first 5 months without any major mishaps. Then he started to get into trouble. Cosmo thought that if he pawed at the door to go out he should be able to have fun and go. Usually that would be okay, but he would forget to wait and get a leash on first. Luckily the kids in the complex were good at cat hunting. I quickly found out that if I allowed him to take daily walks then he would stop running out of the house. He enjoyed all the kids and started going to school with me on a regular basis. Cosmo interacted so well with the students and other people he met that I knew pet assisted therapy was his calling.
Cat Fancy interview
I was contacted by the NEA staffer who interviewed us at the RA this summer. She told me that a reporter from Cat Fancy magazine wanted to contact us to write an article. The interview was last Saturday. On Sunday we had photos taken to send off to the magazine. The article should be in the Feb. edition. What a wonderful way to get our story out.
